I have been on Effexor for some time now and since my dosage has changed my family doctor has put me on time realease caps. I feel worse now than before. Is the time realease working or can RNY patients not absorb these ?

I don't believe the time release pills work for us. At least one of my meds was changed from a time release. Check with your doctor because there are other options for you so you can get back on track. Good luck! P.S. I just read an informative book which I got from the library entitled "The New ANTI Depressants and antianxieties (what you need to know about zoloft, paxil, wellbutrin, effexor, and more) by William S. Appleton, M.D. You might want to check the section on Effexor.
