WHOOPS! I swallowed a grape (whole)

I'm glad to report that nothing serious happened AT ALL.

I stood there, unbelieving that I had just inhaled/swallowed a whole grape.  I fully expected to have lots of problems.  I very carefully sipped some water to see if there was any blockage.  It seemed ok.  Then, I chewed a couple of more grapes to see if they got stuck.  Nothing.  Everything went down, thank the Lord!!

It's been a few days now and still everything is fine.

I was wondering if any of you keep papaya enzyme (is it?) hanging around in the event you swallow something that won't be digested quickly?  I wondered about that, never did it ... but stood there sweating when this happened .... going ... SEEEEEE?!??!  you should have some of that papaya enzyme (or whatnot)!!

So, whole grapes are fine in my pouch.  Not making a habit of it though.

LOL you!  The whole grape probably squashed up while going down.  But best to not be so much of a daring doer again...  LMAO!

Gawd. Scarey. I've heard about papaya enzyme. RNYers would know better than I do. But I THINK it's used to help unstick stuff. I'm glad you are ok. No Britney roles for you

Awwww ... you spoil all my fun!

I can just see myself in a little Catholic school girl skirt, a little white shirt tied at my waist and those puffy furry little things clipping my pig tails.  I'd be serious cute.

I'm not sure ... but I thought the paypaya and meat tenderizer thingees were for meat  that got stuck ???  I'm not sure how they would work on grapes.  Anyway, glad to hear that things worked out for your.  ~m

Yup!  I asked on the RNY forum and that's what Puggie Dawn mentioned.  She said she finds it works great on meat but that's it.  (She has some at home and she keeps some in her purse too!)

Another response from a different poster was that it wasn't helpful AT ALL!

So, as usual, I guess everyone is different.  I may get some to have on hand just in case I ever need it.

Glad everything worked out okay for you & your grape, but man, that sounded like it could've been painful?!
