Optifast from Family Doctor?
Hi there,
It might make a difference if it is part of the procedure to get surgery or if you just want to do this on your own. I know I'm not much help, but when I was at the Ottawa Weightloss Clinic they said that I could only get it there, but that was part of their procedure (and so that the profit would go there, lol).

Hi, Kimberly. This link might help:

I got to it via optifast.com in the States. I don't know if this means that you can only get Optifast through these designated clinics, but it certainly seems to imply that. (BTW, if you try the address optifast.ca, you get Dr. Peter Goldfarb's site in Etobicoke).
I did very well on Optifast pre-op, but am now back into the first stages of re-learning to eat like a real person (only less, and better) - so the only future use for Optifast I can see for myself would be if I'd really let things slide and wanted to jolt myself back on track with a liquid diet and a big loss for a few weeks; I'm hoping it never comes to that. I don't know if there's any history of WLS patients going back to Optifast for that purpose, or whether it's considered inappropriate with the new plumbing.
Share with us what you find out - I'd be curious to know.
cheers
