is this gallbladder pain?
At least 3 times in the last month I have a excruciating pain under my rib cage that radiates into my back & stomach. It sometimes happens after I eat, but yesterday it happened before I ate.
Is this gall bladder pain? I got back for my 1 year followup on June 1st and I am hoping I don't get this pain again before then.
Is this something I should be concerned about, because when it happens I seriously feel like I am going to die!
Thanks for your input!
Gallbladder, kidney and ulcer pain are very frequent after surgery. Get an ultrasound and I bet it could very well likely be one of the above. Call your primary care doctor tomorrow and get it looked at right away.

You should be going to the ER (where you had your surgery). They will be able to help you best! I wouldn't wait too much longer, if you are in pain...GOOOO to the ER! Tell them you had RNY gastric bypass there and who your dr was. They will more then likely give you some nice pain meds, contact the surgical team and decide what to do with you at that point.
I just went thru all that not long after my RNY and was admitted 3x in a week and eventually had it out a couple weeks later.
Watch your fat intake. That will also help with the attacks.
Hope this helps.. take care!

Yes, sounds like gall bladder to me. An ultrasound will tell for sure. I just had mine taken out last Tuesday and I couldn't be happier that it is finally gone. The surgeon did tell me that it was definitely caused by the rapid weight loss. It's too bad that the surgeons just don't take them out when they do our wls...sure would save us a lot of agony a year ot two later.
Good luck and hopefully you won't suffer much longer before something can be done.
Take care.
Linda
