I would make an appointment with your DR asap.  Pushing something back in does not sound good at all.

Make an appointment with your doc. I finally had to see a GI doc for all of my bowel/stomach issues. I also now take Lax A Day every day.

Thanks so much ladies- Linda, I don't know for sure- but , I have never had hemorrhoids-
It was not pleasant, gave me the willies- my stomach is still strangely upset and I am so afraid for the next time I need to go to bathroom again.  I roo take laxaday and have for about  a year- so, straining def wasn''t part of it.

Ususally a rectal prolaspe comes from straining, constipation or just week muscles. I am a nurse in long term care and I see it in many of our residents. All we do is get them to lie on their side and use a wet cloth and push everything back in.If happens again I would definetly see your GP.

I haven't had surgery yet, or even been to an appointment (orientation is in Aug 2011), but I have had a prolapsed rectum.  This past December, I had a hysterectomy for a prolapsed uterus, bladder and rectum.  When I had to have a BM, it felt like it would come out the vaginal wall.  My problems were from a difficult pregnancy eight years ago, but regardless, you need to get it checked out.  Everything is fine and working normal now that it has all been suspended back in place.  I hated "pushing" things back in place :(  Good luck.
