feeling really down and ate crap today
I guess that what goes up must come down. I've been super-productive for the past week or so, running on adrenalin to get the million things done that I had to take care of. I've been in school full-time, working 2 part-time jobs, and trying to be a parent for the past 5 months; work and school together have been taking about 70 hours per week. I think it has finally caught up with me.
I wrote in the WAYEDT thread this morning with the best of intentions. I ended up eating a healthy breakfast, but since then it's been carbs, carbs, carbs (my standard depression food). I let myself sleep in a bit and took an hour for myself, just surfing and stuff. But then I couldn't make myself do any of my work. I got nothing done all day, ended up watching TV and having a nap. I've been feeling horribly down all day. I know it will pass, but just wanted to check in about it.
I have 10 weeks of course work left. I know this stress will decrease soon, I just don't know how I'm going to get through it. I think I'm feeling sorry for myself (even though my life is great and this school thing was my choice). A kick in the ass needed perhaps?

how about a pat on the shoulder instead? we all have those days. Set the alarm for when your little "breather break" is over (tomorrow morning is a good choice) and enjoy the time between now and then.go sit in a steaming hot bubble bath...(.it makes the carbs too soggy if you try to bring them in with you). pick a book or magazine and read for an hour for pleasure. Let go of the guilt and give yourself a break.
Donate a dollar or two for every gram of simple carbs you eat between now and the end of your little break.

OMB (oh my buddha)....give yourself a break....you (like most of us) have struggled with this all your life...you are doing the best you can...just because you have had WLS doesn't mean all the psycho-social stuff you have dealt with regarding food and your weight disappears....take one day at a time and give yourself credit for your strength and accomplishments. This too will pass...take the time to contemplate why you are feeling as you are right now!
It's just one day and it really does sound like you needed a break. Jump back on the wagon today and don't worry about yesterday.....look after today and plan for tomorrow.
Keep up the good work - it happens now and again to everyone. The part that we need to ensure is that it doesn't happen too often. Hugs and hope you have a better day today.
