The Ninja Blender
I've read many times on this forum that the Ninja blender is amazing. I've been watching for a sale and have seen prices from 80. to 70. Well as of today Canadian Tire has it on sale for 39.99. Lucky me, I had $10 in CT money. By the way, did you know they are discontinuing the money and moving to yet another points card. I think the sale will last a week.

I have this blender....WAY better than the magic bullet, of which I've owned two. It blends ice to snow consistency, which is great for slushy drinks, but it also blends fruits and veggies well without leaving big chunks. I've used it to grate cheese and cut soft veggies like tomatoes. The magic bullet was inconsistent and made things either like mush or left big chunks of stuff in whatever I was blending. It is good for mixing up a protein drink or something like that in which there is no ice or actual fruit. But I much, much prefer the Ninja. It is the perfect blender.
I have an older one. I bought it a few years ago. It looks like this one below but is bright blue instead of green:

I usually use the small container for everything because it is big enough to do almost anything I need to do with it. I only use the big container when I am blending soups into cream soups or if I am making a large serving of something for all of my kids.
I've never tried the newer versions and I don't even want to start looking at them because I am sure I will end up buying one, but don't need it because the one I have is perfect for what I need.
You won't regret your purchase if you do decide to buy it.

Good timing! I am glad you mentioned this because I DID go out and buy it and HAD to try it out RIGHT away and I love it! My son just made a smoothie as well... I like it way more than the Bullet and I also love the small chopping bowl it comes with... perfect for pureeing food someday in the future?
