Burgers for the dim sum lovers out there

I've made these burgers countless times pre-WLS and made them for the first time since surgery last night. OMG!! They're still perfect! If you love Dim Sum, these will certainly remind you of shumai dumplings. Though the recipe doesn't suggest it, I always serve them with Soy Ginger Dipping Sauce. If people wish, they can be served on PC Thinsations mini burger buns. The recipe was printed in Chatelaine magazine sometime last summer. I've included a link to the recipe on their site.

As for the dipping sauce, I use the following recipe:

Oh, almost forgot the best part. They're a protein powerhouse! (At nearly three months out I can comfortably eat 1/2 a serving.)

I made them for my boyfriend and he was reluctant to try them. It's now his new favourite meal. We both love Dim Sum and this really brought back memories of our former favourite Sunday morning activity.

Oh my - sounds delish, no bun needed at all.
I think it would be pretty easy to lower the calories and fats in this recipe. For example, instead of using honey in the dipping sauce you could use agave or even granulated Splenda. Instead of pork, you could use turkey, etc. Are you going to post this recipe on our recipe forum?

You're right, you can tinker with the recipe to make it even healthier but I love it so much as it is. I decided not to sub for the honey in the dipping sauce because it really is just a smidge. I eat maybe a total of 1 TB so the sugar content is negligable. I'm sure this could work with turkey, too and I'd love to know how it turns out if someone tries it. Nutritionally, since I can only eat 1/2 a serving, my meal comes to less than 200 calories and about 11 grams of fat. Not too terrible for almost 20 grams of protein.
I'll try my best to post it on the forum but I haven't posted anything there before. I may need some technical help.

Sounds delicious! I make pot stickers (chinese dumplings) which have a similar filling and I substitute ground turkey for the pork. WIth the wonderful flavours of the ginger, garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil, I don't notice any difference between the pork and turkey. The burgers look great without all the hassle of filling the dumplings.
