Can someone please remind me - 5 day pouch test

What does the 5-day pouch test involve exactly.  I was recently told, but apparently, I didn't have my one ear plugged because it went right through.

Although I don't believe it 'resets' or 'tests' your pouch, I do think it's a good way to get back on track.

Thanks.

Found this using OH search engine.  Hope it helps :)

If the link doesn't work, I just types "rules 5 day pouch test" in the search box at the top right of the OH site.

Thanks, Marny.  I keep forgetting about the search engine.  Sometimes I can barely operate GOOGLE!

No problem.  Let me know how it goes.  I have wondered about trying that as I have been pretty lax with my eating lately. I'm not gaining, but not losing either, and the feeling of not being on track makes me feel cruddy.

I don't have a pouch but what I have done when I feel like I am off track is go back to those first weeks post op when you eat practically nothing but protein. I'll have a protein shake for breakfast, a protein bar at lunch, apple/carrot sticks in the afternoon, some kind of protein at supper (like a small chicken breast) with maybe a spoonful or 2 of veggies (this is my usual supper anyway) then a glass of skim milk around bed time.

Hi Jen

I agree - I go back to the early basics when I feel myself heading off in the wrong direction, and I'm AMAZED at how 2 or 3 days of this seems to get my appetitie back under control and kills the carb cravings!

thanx for posting, I've been thinking about doing this for a few weeks now... need to get rid of the cravings for chocolate, ice cream and all junk food lol
