I am one week out from surgery and dying to soak in a bath... showers are good but i want a bath lol
Can someone tell me how long we are suppose to wait?
thanks a bunch!
Your centre should have given you this information. Usually you want to wait until all your sites have healed. You dont want bath water to get into any open areas as it can lead to infection.

You have to make sure that you are healed well, I was seaping fluid for a while, so I had to wait until that stopped before I could have more than a shower. Hope it comes soon for you!

The pamphlet I got from TWH states, "You may shower 48 hours after your surgery. Pat your incision dry after showering. You may have a tub bath after 1 week". That does seem a bit soon to me. I would think you'd want to heal first.
I was told (Ottawa) to wait at least 2 weeks; longer if my incisions weren't completely healed. I've been given the same instruction on this for 3 surgeries over the past couple of years. I've had surgery recently and am dying to have a bath too! Counting the days...
Thanks everyone!!! I am a fast healer, but not quite there yet hopefully soon the last two surgeries i had were on my back, so a bath was out of the question even if i was aloud lol
