I am 8lbs away from goal weight but have just  upped my workout regim. I am doing alot of running due to my shoulder injury an the weight has started falling off. I had been told to consume 1100 cals by the dietician on my last visit and i just upped it to 1200 cals...and still having weight loss. i am in a size 10 and dont really want to go below that. not much left in the butt/boob deptartment anymore.
Any healthy suggestion on how to find the right combo of exercise/calories?

I can't help you on the combo of exercise/calories, but I am interested in the running part of your post.  I, too have started running, but I'm not dropping any weight.  I've been running for about a month, 3-4x/week for about 20-30 minutes (mostly running, some walking).  My most recent run was 7:1, with 2-3:1's - I went 3K in approx. 32 min.  How long had you been running before your body turned around and started giving up the weight?

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

This might be the reverse of what you're looking for, but I can tell you that 9 months post-op, I started running.
I continued to lose (another 4 pounds) during the 6 weeks I ran.
Then I had to quit because of my heart, and started "just" walking.

I have regained those 4 pounds, in the last 8 weeks.

Does that help?

Sounds like running just might help to ensure loss.  I also need to be more diligent in my eating habits and get back to basics (which is probably the biggest part of my "problem."  I must be gaining some muscle, per Monica, but I am also retaining some fluid (see it in the ankles).  Note to self - make better choices, keep running, talk to doc about fluid retention.  I hope to be like Gaby and be heading toward below goal - I could probably lose another 50 pounds and be okay.  In my next life I'm going to be taller b/c I'd be at my perfect weight right now!

Honestly, I think you should go a little under your goal. Eventually your body will adjust and you may gain some back. Also, if, for any reason, you cut back on your regimen, you might need that wiggle room.

I would just keep it at 1100 as long as you are feeling well.
