Your friend should visit their PCP for a referral to the Ontario Bariatric Registry. If their PCP is not willing, perhaps they have another doctor they see (specialist) or a Nurse Practitioner. If they do not have a family doctor, they can visit a clinic for a referral.
The doctor needs to send it to the Registry. Once the registry has the referral, they will send your friends information to the nearest Bariatric Centre - based on postal code.
