39:43... I did it! I ran 5K today!

THANK YOU! Thank you for the support, the positivity and the well wishes! (I was literally reading your responses to this morning's post, before I raced today. I read via my iPhone.)

I so happy and relishing the sore muscles. I earned these aches and pains! Nevertheless, I am glad I had the foresight to book a massage for tomorrow. Lol

I am just over 8 months post-op, down 105lbs and I just ran 5K! (Actually, technically I had to walk for part of it...a couple minutes to catch my breath...no one said anything about hills! Ugh)

All afternoon I tried to find the words to describe what it feels like to accomplish this goal...it's really hard for this wordsmith to find the right words today! Go figure! Nevertheless, I managed to finish a blogpost about my day...

I had promised myself to finish in 45 minutes or less... and I came in at 39 minutes and 43 seconds...so I am happy with that. Especially since the last kilometer was basically ALL UP HILL! (Gasp!)

I raised $1000 and I finished the whole thing. Mission Accomplished... can't wait to fly away to Aruba next week.
