how do you get protein in when you have the flue??

I have been sick since yesterday and having a hard time keeping clear fluids in let alone protein...I am trying my best to keep drinking but there is no way I feel like eating food.  I tried a bit of a protein shake yesterday and that was hell!

Any ideas or should I just wait it out??

Keep fluids up, and ride it out.  If you are sick and cannot stomach anything, you must be able to have fluids.  Dehydration would be worse!

just make sure you keep getting in fluids. Don't worry about the protein too much. Rest, and feel better soon.

 

Just as a point of accuracy, what you have is not likely the flu, more likely a stomach bug. Influenza is a respiratory illness, coughing, sneezing etc, like a cold gone bad. You'll have a fever, and body aches and feel like a truck ran over you. Common error, but its why people think the flu shot doesn't work, cuz they get immunized, and perhaps come down with a stomach bug (gastritis) and think the shot doesn't work.

A few days with minimal protein won't hurt you, but you need to get the fluids in.  You can catch up on your protein later as it is more of a long term effort with protein and fluids are more of an immediate problem.

ITA with the above, get your fluids in and don't worry too much. It's only a couple of days.Sip, sip, sip and do your best on the protein until you feel better.

Theres a protein H20 at some shoppers, which tastes like gelatin in lemonade, but is fluid and protein.
