Oh crud!
I feel for you so much...
And I second the acupuncture. It is what saved me last April. I lucked out because there is a really great one near me in Oshawa. It's a bit more expensive then some but he is actually a C.M.D, Dr.AC, & Ph.D in physiology.
*gentle air hugs*
Oh no! What a shame. Feel better soon!

I hope you get better soon!! I would go with the above answers....Just wanted to make sure you are drinking enough water, as a sign of dehydration is a sore back...yours does sound beyond sore, so you are propably ok on the water part...I just wanted to make sure you knew of this sign of dehydration...
Take care!

Oh Boy Tanya!!!! Do you have a herniated disc? There's nothing MORE painful.....been there, done that!!!
I am currently dealing with "bulging" discs and am taking new medication called Lyrica.....it's working GR8 for the sciatic pain. However, as you've had the RNY, I'm not sure if you'd be able to take it?? Might want to ask your Doc? (I've had two back surgeries and have OA as well, for which I am taking NSAIDS and that's the main reason I chose the VSG vs the RNY) I hope you find a medication to get some relief.
In the meantime, a few tips......sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees, and when sitting, keep your knees "higher" than your hips (your feet on a footstool or box?) and, if you can get down on the floor....lay flat with a small pillow under your head and put the calves of your legs onto the seat of a chair (your Bum against chair legs)....if you lie like this for 15+ minutes, it will take all the pressure off the sciatic nerve and you'll feel SO much better......this REALLY works the best!
Hope you feel better SOON!
Verity
