Opti day one ....

Ok so today was day one .... I got through the shakes no probs ... the chocolate far better then vanilla but I am going to add the instant coffee and see if I can make vanilla any better.

 

I have a dull headache ... apparently this could last three days someone else told me (thanks for the reply by the way ) ok so may I take tylenol or advill?

Woohoo. Your so close now. So excited for you. I only bought chocolate because I like it better you could try mixing 50/50 chocolate/vanilla.

You can take either Tylenol or Advil but only up until a few days before surgery.  Check with your papers on that one.  I had the headache for 3-4 days.  It does go away. 

I also liked the chocolate better :) 

 

Try banana, or orange extract in the vanilla. A few drops is enough.

I'm on day two opti.  I just bought some Torani sugar free salted caramel syrup for my chocolate opti.  It's SO good!

I find half a packet of mixed berry crystal light goes well with the vanilla

My hardest day was day 2. I thought I was going to die! I was weak, hurt all over, had explosive poopiness, and in general felt horrible. Day 3 was better and it was clear sailing after that. I had to stay near a toilet day 2, real near. I did continue to have the "optitrotts" the entire time I was on it, but it was not as "immediate" as day 2.

So many of us in this stage right now!  I am struggling, big time.  Starving!!!!  I read someone on here saying that the shakes "filled them up" and I'm shocked at how hungry I am within 1/2 hr of having a shake.  The hunger is about strong enough, most of the time, to make me question my whole decision about surgery ( I know I know....).  I am "forcing" the shakes down, the surgeon is off until Monday - I'm tempted to use the Premier shakes from Costco in place of all of the vanilla just to get through this.

I sure hope this is one of the hardest parts of this whole thing, cause it really is difficult.  I wish there could be some items of healthy food in combination - ie lean meat, other veggies, fruits, etc....I still don't really understand why there can't be.  How would fruits, veggies or lean meat make a difference, if these are the foods we'll still be consuming afterwards....I don't get it.

And....I'm very grumpy 

Only bought vanilla because I thought it would be easier to mix a bunch of syrups with them, and that is just what I did!
