CRAZY Trans-Canada Challenge: Time to post your weekly mileage. (Dec31-Jan6)
Good morning, all!
I hope everyone had a decent holiday. Mine was a lot better than I could have hoped. I finally made it back home and am trying to get back into the swing of things. I don't know what's happened but I have a renewed sense of commitment to this challenge - now, only if the weather would co-operate! I'm desperate to get out and walk and ski and snowshoe but the -20 (without windchill) is really cramping my style. I guess it's time to bite the bullet and move myself indoors to a treadmill. Walking outside is so much better.
Anyway, I managed 22 Km this week. Still nowhere near what I can do but not too terrible for someone who was traveling a lot of last week.
I'll be posting a combined update thread from the past two weeks as soon as I get everyone's updates. I'll also be posting a , synopsis about everyone's good deeds they did in December. If you have more to add, now would be a good time to do it. I'll work on posting the prize thread this week. Everyone who submitted mileage for December is eligible. Now that 2013 is upon us and I'm back in the groove (almost!) I should be posting more regularly. Thanks for all your patience over the past month or so!
Have a great week, everyone!!

Slow week for me again, clocking 11.6k only. However, it's back to work this morning so I see a lot more activity in my future. Go a-team.
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
80k for me. Started the actual training for my 1/2 marathon, i'm doing less than before. Weird. Oh well, i'm happy to be training!!
Thanks Thea!! You and my FitBit keep me going!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Not a great walking week for me, unfortunately! I got my first period since surgery with cramps all day on Friday, and I had no energy on the weekend. Didn't eat enough, and didn't walk much as a result. This week will be better! And I was happy to discover on Friday afternoon that a) I can take Midol because it's tylenol-based, and b) it works! Good to know!
18 km for CU L8R
