CRAZY Trans-Canada Challenge: Time to post your weekly mileage
Another busy week for me. I'm happy to say that my Excel files have been restored so I will be able to post an update on the team mileage by Wednesday morning. I was really in panic mode for awhile.
I have some fun and bizarre news to report. I joined a 5-pin bowling league back in September. It was to be a part of putting myself out there. Well, I went to a tournament this past weekend and I place 3rd in the women's division for Northwestern Ontario. It was a points-over-average tourney - which means the better you bowl over your average, the better you place. Since I'm an abysmal bowler (it's true, I'm not being modest) and I had an awesome day bowling, I managed to qualify for the provincials. I'm not sure if I'll go since it'll be a little costly and it's about a 9 hour drive away but it was still loads of fun.
Anyway, I've gone 67.3 Km this week. It would have been more but I refuse to walk outside in -30 degree weather. I draw the limit at -23! How'd everyone else do?
Remember, the challenge this month is to do something different at least once. Only a couple of people have reported on that so it'll be a small list of potential winners to chose from if no one else gets in their two cents. Personally, I've added hills to my walks and have taken to dancing with my dogs every morning before work. See, little things count, too. Try walking a little faster, add some incline to your treadmill or more tension to your bike, go skating or sledding or skiing or snowshoeing. Just shake it up a little! You can post here or send me a pm.
Have a great week, everyone!

Hi Thea,
Congrats on your bowling...that's so cool and a great example of putting ourselves back out there :) Kudos too for your dancing, creates a vision in my head that makes me smile this morning.
I did 32 kms this week for Team B (Your Pace or Mine).
I upped the tension on my bike and did it for the entire 20 mins (back down for warm up and cool down). It's little I know but it was big for me to do it for the whole 20 mins....I was tempted to lower it at about 12 mins in but resisted and felt really good afterwards!)
Enjoy your day!
Debbie
Good morning,
33 km for the A-Team this week.
And I apologize in advance to my teammates - having surgery on Thursday and I'm kind of going to be out of commission for a bit.

I'll just start calling you Slacker now. How about that?
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Hope the surgery goes smoothly, Karen. I'll be thinking of you.
P.S. Wear your cheapie pedometer while doing your post op walking. It'll count!
P.P.S. Only 10 more days until I do the draw for the FitBit... maybe it'll be your lucky day. :)
Maybe so!
Thanks Thea. xo

Still not a stellar week as I am still recovering from this horrible flu. Mostly better now with a bit of a lingering cough.
I did manage to get back up to a better total this week. I did 68 Kms for team B.
And on the new activity front, I actually went out dancing Saturday night!! At a bar!! A girlfriend and I went with my 19 year old daughter and her friend. We had a blast. Stayed on the floor the whole night. My feet were killing me yesterday but boy was it fun!
