No OHIP only covered my Panni and I upgraded. If you were total self pay, I was told the fleur dis lis would cost close to $7500. Mine cost me $3500. I did also add in a breast lift to piggy back on the paid for anastetic.

I documented every cream, every antibiotic every visit to the drs during my post op for 2 years. My family dr also wrote a fantastic referral letter for me. Dr Nanda did the rest.

I also did a lot of research about the fleur de lis and asked a lot of questions. Helped make my mind up.

That's pretty much what I've read from several people who have done the same thing.  I can swing the $7000 for upgrade and new boobs, but sure couldn't afford to do more.  I sure do hope that Ohip doesn't pick on me.  I've only got one visit to the Dr. for a prescription for cream for the intense itching I get.  But lets talk about the sweating and the smell and the constant hygiene issues.  And how about sweat running in little rivers from under the panni as I'm having a hotflash in bed.  Gross.  And the pull I feel in my umbilical hernia when I get a little too active.  Please approve.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

That is what I did...no new boobs, just a lift so they are not pointing at the floor!!

I ended up with 2 hernias I also did not know of! Umbillical and one from a port hold from the laproscopic surgery.

I also had all the other grossness too so fingers crossed!!

Hi M!  If there is anyway you can swing it, you should go for the TT and BL.  You won't regret the money spent!  I'm so glad I did.  I had a huge muffin top and it's gone now!  I can't believe how flat I am.

It took 2 months from appt to approval with OHIP.  I had surgery July 24th, 2012.

Best of Luck!

Marilynn
