Last November when Amy and I crossed to the US to go to Grove City Outlets... the US border guard was looking me up and down because my passport photo did not match my new face at about 140 lbs lost.   He was looking me up and down and I had to explain to him I had surgery and have lost lots of weight.

Coming back into Canada the same thing happened and the guard suggested I get my passport renewed early to get a new picture.  So I contacted the local passport office and they said that if you appearance has changed you should consider having the passport replaced early.

So I got new pictures and went to the passport office last Thursday to get it renewed.  The lady at the counter could not believe the difference in the pictures.  I still had three years on the passport but she said it was the right thing to do.  Cost me $87 but got it yesterday, less than a week.  Cost me $87 but it was a good $87.

If you travel allot, consider getting your passport renewed your face has changed as much as mine has.

We are going to US and on a cruise next week. I looked at my passport picture and realise it was not me anymore. Someone who travels a lot suggested I get a new passport. Had to pay $10.00 extra so I could pick it up but I agree it was well worth the money. I had to write a short note as to why I was renewing a year early!
