I just found out that I've been approved for surgery!   I can't wait to tell my wonderful sis who is my support person and who also nudged me every time I started to stress.

Also a big THANK YOU to those of you who have also shared your words of wisdom to me, a newbie who is so excited to be on this journey!   I look forward to learning more from you experienced and wise ones.

Forgive me for being horrible at remembering names but I do recall reading through many posts and came across one that pretty much said to be your own advocate and keep calling until you get a live human being on the other end instead of waiting for a call back to the voice mail you leave behind at any of the offices - it works wonders!

I'm off to do the happy dance...as much as my knees will tolerate LOL!   :)

Way to go!!!

I know I was soooo waiting to hear myself, I can understand your excitement.  I am now waiting to see the surgeon and get my date.  this process is a lot of hurry-up and wait but that is a part of the experience. What hospital are you with?

I've been saying that for awhile. You must be proactive and make calls and not wait for them to contact you. Because of this, my surgery is in two weeks.  For me, process start to finish is four months.  Advocate for yourselves people!
