What to Bring to the Hospital
So my surgery is in eight days and I'm already thinking of what I need at the hospital. I would imagine I need PJ's, probably a two piece. Do I need a robe for strolling the halls? What toiletries will I need? Will I be able to have a shower there. If so, I guess I'll need shampoo and body wash. Slippers of course. Anything else?

There was only a hand basin and no shower.....if there's a phone in your room make sure you don't get charged for it because there was one in mine and I never used it I got a bill in the mail for it......don't over pack because you probably will not use most of it....bring all your meds....I found hrrh really hot and dry......if your bring your cell phone remember your wall charger....good luck saving room on the bench for you
I took a change of underwear and slippers. I wore home the cloths I came in, and wore 2 gowns from hospital, one backward and one frontwards, They gave me vasaline for lips, which were very dry. I ordered TV and didnt use it. I had a book and tablet but didint use them. I had cell phone and visa, plus meds and medical card + extras medical coverage card. I also took my own soap and dental needs. I was only in for 2 days and slept alot of the time. If you have family coming get them to bring any little things you might have forgotten, but dont take tones of stuff. The dietician will visit you and give you info on post op foods so dont bother taking any of your pre-op paperwork Good luck for a quick recovery
I did not worry about PJ's just took a house coat with me. You don't need to worry about shampoo and body wash. you will not need them. I had surgery on a Wed out Friday and I did not have a shower there and it was not offered. Need to give time for the incision to heal before shower.Make sure you have a good pair of slippers with you for walking in. Take clothing that fit big and lose on you for coming home with. Make sure you take something for your lips it is dry in there. Take a book to read but mind you I did not read much. With walking the halls and being tired just did not get reading in. Take your toothbrush and toothpaste. Some Kleenex might be good. Most hospitals do not have those.

Yes, they'll give you a bag for your personal effects. They sealed it up and it was in my room when I got there. I wouldn't bring too many valuables just in case, but it should be okay.
