3.5 months out!
OMG time is flying by. It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in the waiting room at the hospital before surgery and here I am 3 1/2 months out. I have to say that things have been pretty smooth sailing. I haven't had much in the way of food intolerances, no throwing up...... I have however lost well over HALF of my hair. My dietician and I put it off to the quick weight loss but when my 3 month bloodwork came back it showed that my iron levels were extremely low. I'm now on iron supplements twice a day in hopes that they will bring my levels up enough (and hoping that the hair loss will slow to a more manageable pace). I am feeling amazing and loving my new self! I am down a total of 80lbs since the start of my pre-op diet and 52lbs since surgery. I have gone from a size 24 to a 16 and I'm so close to shopping in a "normal" store that I can taste it!!!!
My biggest NSV so far is being able to go on any ride that I please with my kids at Canada's Wonderland!!! Last year I wouldn't be caught dead in line for any rides in fear that I wouldn't fit and now I'm running to them with my girls
My love of food has been replaced with love for myself, love for that happy feeling that I have more and more often, love for doing all of those things with my kids that I only dreamed of pre-op and a love of walking (really???? I love walking???? Never could have guessed that one!!!!) I started out with arthritis and plantar fascitis (amongst many other things) and the just the thought of walking was excrutiating and now I spend several hours a day walking with my 2 fur babies. All I can say is I am loving life again!!!!
This has been an incredible experience so far and it's only just begun. I wouldn't change a single minute!!! Like so many before me, I wish I had done this sooner!!!
Amazing! And just think - you're only 3.5 months out!! :) I can't wait to see how this progresses for you! :) Congrats!
