Collecting Info. To Satisfy My Curiosity. What were your guidelines?
So.....I am wondering just how different each center's guidelines are for post op eating. If you have time, and care to answer the following questions, I'd very much like to see how (or if), things have changed from when I had surgery. Please- no arguing. If you understood your plan differently, then just post what you understand from reading your center's guidelines, and let everyone else make up their own minds. This is just for curiosity's sake and for me to better understand what y'all are going through currently at your centers. Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time.

I am 2yrs 2mths post op
Original literature said no caffeine, but 4 weeks post op NUT sad one a day was OK as long as I was getting in all my water. 1/2 decaf would be a better alternative.
Carbonation-definitely a no
No drinking 1/2hr before and 1hr after eating.
Vitamins-multi 2 per day with iron, b12 and calcium citrate.
1. Where did you have surgery? Ottawa
2. What eating stages did your center advise to get you back to solid foods? (Eg. weeks 1-2 clear fluids, weeks 3-4 full fluids,.......Week 9 solid foods) - Week 1 liquid, day 6 to 10 pureed and after that couldn't handle that mushy crap, got the ok to try solid foods and been on them since, some I waited a little longer, harder to digest.
3. Are you allowed caffeine? nope
4. Are you allowed carbonated beverages? I tried a sip and tasted gross
5. Are you required to separate eating from drinking by 1/2 hour before and after a meal? I have sips as everything seems to get stuck for me.
6. What vitamins were you told are mandatory (general to everyone at your center, not specific to you)? I had a very hard time with getting them all in, I switched to Prenatal because I only have to take on a day and works much better, B12 - strips so much easier too.
