I miss chewing
So I am a week and bait post op. with three kids in the house, my mom visiting to help with laundry, housework and most especially cooking, there is a lot of food being consumed around me.
Im not hungry but oh boy do I miss solid food. It seems like I have been on liquids forever. I see all the food and just want to take a small piece for myself. I know I can't. Didn't think I would be so looking forward to purée!
I am a bit more than three months out but boy do I remember wanting to sink my teeth into something - anything - a raw carrot even. And, not only that but my teeth were always coated with grunge, had to brush a lot. My dentist told me the story of a young man who had to have his teeth wired shut due to a broken jaw. He ate protein powders and whey and milk products and by the time his jaw was healed he had numerous cavities! I found apples were the first thing I ate and easy to chew up. They also cleaned up my teeth. Persevere!
Just think of it as a vacation for your teeth!
And count down the days until Surgery!!!
