Fitness NSV

Well, I am tucked in bed because my muscles are tired from working out.

I started back at the gym yesterday, 8 weeks post op, and went to a spin class. I love spin, done it forever BUT when we went to stretching, I could actually stretch my quads!!! May sound weird but I couldn't before (thought it was just tight), it was the extra weight!!! I actually looked down and there I was, like I'd always done it. Amazing.

Tonight in Bikram yoga I actually looked like a yogi. Before surgery I couldn't do a lot of poses an then all of a sudden I did 'dancers pose'. Felt amazing and I felt for the first time that I belonged in there (a guy kept looking at me too! Lol flattering it was).

Tmw it's Shred by Julian Michaels, everyday I get better and stronger.

Pre-ops, I know the wait is long but keep your eyes on the prize!

WOW!  Good for you.  I think spinning could be fun actually, maybe I will try it soon.  Just 1 month post-op.

Excellent work!! I loved it when I got to a point where "things" weren't in the way of yoga and stretching poses! I've always been flexible, but too much was in my way!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
