What is the real wait time for gastric bypass in Ontario

From the time of my referral. ( if you are in Toronto make sure they fax it to the Bariatric society and not use the link they have on their website, apparently they only accept faxes, that delayed me by a couple weeks to be assigned to a center )
I emailed the Society to find out where I was referred to ( that speeds up the process )
Once I found out, I called HRRH and said I just found out I was placed at this center when and how do I find out about orientation. Lady put me on hold and gave me orientation date over the phone and emailed me all the forms I had to fill out. Apparently that speed up that part also.
Went to orientation, then I called the center a week later and asked what next step was. Lady gave asked when I was available to come in gave me choice of couple dates. Choose what worked for me and that was my meet and greet with Dr Hagen, at that appointment they gave me all the rest of the appointments. Told me to go up stairs to Dr Glazors office, the internist they work with and to book that appointment.
Thats it, attending everything. Dr Glazor sent me for sleep test, see my surgeon again after review of sleep test and was cleared and approved and bought my opti fast and given date of Dec 3rd.

Like everyone said, it can vary. I started in May and Surgery is Nov.8, I have no medical issues nor any daily meds. I was able to take advantage of cancelled appointments. Mine may have been sooner but I ended up switching due to over booking. Good luck on your journey I really hope it goes well
Orientation May 2013, Surgeon( Dr.Lindsay) July 17, Rescheduled RN/NUT/ SW and got lucky with a cancellation July 18, Dr.Linsday 2nd appt Aug.19, Dr.Lindsay was overbooked switched to Dr.Starr on Oct.8, Surgery Dr.Starr Nov.8,2013
Hi about a month ago my doctor and I discussed weight loss surgery. ... we had discussed it over the last few years. .. in 2010 a car accident broke my pelvic. .. it never healed. .. so I but on 100lbs to my already weight then of 350 lbs so now it 450lbs. ... my weight won't move. .. anyways I am feed up of the extra weight. ... my body is fed up. ...so my doctors mother was the 3 or 9 lady in Ontario to have gastric bypass in the day. ... that's when I discussed I deserved to be able to enjoy life. .. so I agreed with him to start the referral. ... should I call and ask my doctor if he did fill everything in and sent the referral in. ..? I am a bit worried that he might have forget to do it? What do you all think. ...the close place would be in Ottawa for a surgery. .I am about an hr from there.
