One week since surgery :)
Well, one week out and doing well... i have one question, has anyone else felt a pulling sensation in their stomach when they walk after surgery? It isn't painful..just feels weird. All my fluids are going down well and I start full fluids tomorrow. People from Guelph....they say in full fluid stage to have 1/2 c of oatmeal made with 1/2 a cup of milk...does that mean 1 cup in total? They say the same about pureed soup and cream soup...is it 1/2 c total milk and soup or 1 c total? I may call the clinic. Anyway, just letting people know it's going well.
Hope everyone has a good week Sue
It is good to hear that you are doing so well. My appointment went well yesterday. I was scared stiff of Dr. Reed. He is nice but not a guy who smiles a lot. He has a dry sense of humour which I like. Bob came in with me and that helped he was able to remember the things that I couldn't so he filled in the blanks for me. Please keep me posted on how your doing here and on our group page I am really interested and I'm pretty sure everyone else is too. If and when your husband goes back to work and you want someone to visit or take you out for a while to get you out of the house give me a phone call. I really mean it.
Sounds like your doing great! The pulling sensation could be everything starting to heal, and that is a good sign!
I couldn't tolerate oatmeal, but when l tried it, l might have been able to eat 1 tablespoon, and I made it with milk same with soup I started with 1 tablespoon, and worked my way up to 1/4 cup then 1/2 cup.
Your starting full fluids already? According to myself and people l have spoken to at Guelph we are all on clear fluids for 2 weeks.
Glad your able to get all your fluids in! Thanks for the update!
