CALLING ALL VETS!- How long did you lose weight for?

Hi guys!

Thanks for reading this post.

I'm almost five months out after having my RNY and loving the changes I have seen in my body, and the victories both scale and non-scale.

I am wondering if anyone is willing to share how long they lost weight for following RNY before they stabilized 'for keeps'.

I'm more or less wondering what to expect.

If you'd be willing to also elaborate on the fitness plan and tracking methods you used (if applicable) I'd be so appreciative.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Jen

I am not much of a vet but I reached goal at 15 month. This would be different for everyone based on how much they need to lose. I also lost the last 20 by being very ill. I have been this weight for 5 months and hope to keep it off. I exercise by walking and biking.

I have a fitbit to monitor my steps and calories. For me it is essential to track my food.

The thing I found about this journey is it is as unique as the many people on it. There are some who swear tracking does not work for them. Others have found coming back to re-focus they need to track. It appears to be personal.

Good luck with your continued success

A year for me because I stopped at goal.  I wish I gave myself more leeway.

I think more leeway in terms of a bit of a gain back. For example, I want to weight 170 so I lose until 160 and allow a bit of room for some gain.

Most people gain back 5-20% of their weight back. I wish I'd left myself 10-15 lbs of wiggle room to account for that.  Because when you stop and goal and have bounceback you end up back as overweight and it sucks

Lost my weight the first 12 month and have been stable the last yr. I do fluctuate up and down a few pounds but that is to be expected
