for those about to have surgery... tibits of advice

Hello all!

So I see many are on the verge of having  surgery and I wanted to offer some suggestions...

After surgery prepare to be cold. I was always a furnace, dressed like it was summer in January...after surgery I FROZE. Literally. I was cold ALL the time. Pack on blankets to your bed, buy real warm jammies and loads of snuggly socks.

I also noticed that my feet started peeling. That was dehydration. Drink lots of water, and when you think you've had enough, drink more.

Don't be obsessed with the scale. It will happen. Everyone at different rates, but it happens.

Eat SLOWLY. Chew until your teeth get tired. THEN swallow.

Nap, sip, walk. REPEAT. Follow the  schedule. Get your protein and vitamins in. This is a must.

The liquid/puree/soft foods stage doesn't last forever.  Enjoy the ride!

I am only 3 weeks post surgery and these are some great tips!!

I have to agree with the cold, I have been living in jogging pants and hoodies and slippers for the last few weeks LOL

And to add...(personal note)..if you bought a scale just for this reason....give it away now!! LOL
