Did anyone have bad gas at the beginning when drinking water or fluids like water? I tried a protein shake yesterday...I know its early... but I can dr ink that with zero issues. Barely any gas. But tea, water, watered down juice, etc are killing me. Any ideas? I am using gas x to help. But the trapped gas is making me vomit./wretch. Please ...any advise is appreciated.

I had the same issues....all liquids were fine except really thin stuff like water, tea etc..they all caused pain/gas..  I'm not sure how long ago you had surgery, but it does get better!  I'm not sure what you can do to get rid of it besides walking lots. It will help move the gas out. Sorry I couldn't be more help...but I hope you start feeling better soon...hang in there! :-)

Can you add a fibre supplement or skim milk powder to your water or tea to thicken it a bit plus get more protein in? (With the skim powder?) someone else wrote that they use vanilla protein powder in tea or coffee as milk. Again...more protein. Might thicken it some?

The first 4 days post-op for me were very much like a torture experiment with gas. Unreal.

Are you walking as much as you can? That was the ONLY thing that helped me at all.

Maybe add something like MiO to your water?

I am walking like crazy. I feel like I am doing laps of my house..lol. I added flavors to my water. Juice doesn't go down well. So far I can slowly get protein shakes down. I have bought unflavored protein powder. And recipes or anything you like to add it to?? It still smells vanilla ish??

I am almost 5 yrs post-op and it depends on the type of foods I eat..I still get really bad gas, so I have learned to consume those foods only on a Friday or Sat night, everthing from sausage to sunflower seeds ends up in a case of Peppy Le Pew

Your body will eventually adjust itself and work out which foods items it will tolerate easier than others.

prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.

life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!.  Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
