orientation tomorrow
Regardless of whether or not you decide to continue in the process, the Orientation Session will provide you with some good tips and resources such as websites and book suggestions that you can use with or without the surgery.
Referral: Apr 2013; Orientation (HRRH): Aug 12, 2013; 1st Surgeon Appt (Dr Sohi): Aug 23, 2013; SW/RD/RN: Nov 8, 2013; Internist (Dr Glazer): Nov 14, 2013; 2nd Surgeon Appt: Nov 20, 2013; Start Opti: Jan 3, 2013; PATTS: Jan 16, 2014; Surgery: Jan 24, 2014
You should email them and ask where you been assigned. Then call that center and tell them you been assigned there and was wondering when orientation is.
bariatricregistry@stjoham.on.ca, just email them saying you sent in a referral in June and haven’t heard anything and were wondering if you have actually received the referral. I am very glad I did this cause my first referral was sent in on April 13. I emailed them May 10 and they said they haven’t received it. Apparently my doctor sent it in the wrong way and had to be resubmitted. So I called my doc office ASAP and they resubmitted it the way they were supposed to. Some ppl get annoyed others call or ask for cancelled appointments. I personally have not taken any cancelled appointments but I have called done what I am suggesting to you and I have called to make the next appointments even if we are supposed to wait to be called. I have friends that work in doctor’s office and they tell me about files that sit on desk, misfiled, missing etc. You have to be proactive is my view.
I know this is late but...
I'm in Ottawa, and I know I was nervous and excited for my orientation session earlier this year. It's a scary prospect as you embark on this road, but you will know if it's the right one for you. I echo the advice of sticking around and listening to all the information and remember that it IS just an information session. There are no commitments at this point and information is a good thing when you are considering making radical changes/decisions that will affect your life. But I also remember that as I listened to the information presented, the nervousness diminished and the excitement grew. I knew it was right for me. And you will probably come away with some idea of what is the right path for you. Wishing you lots of luck as you attend the session. :)
