My birthday is slowly approaching? What cake ideas? Low fat/carb, even homemade? I have a no sugar handmade apple pie (made with splenda)...that's what I was thinking? Just something to put 1 candle into...

I'm thinking the same thing, birthday coming up for me too. I was going to try a tiny sliver of angel food cake with strawberries and no sugar vanilla ice cream, but no sugar apple pie sounds delish! You could also try a recipe for diabetic/no sugar cupcakes, that way you have a little individual portion to put a candle in :)

Referral May 2013 / orientation at TWH June 27 / nurse practitioner July 3 / social worker August 19 / nutrition class August 26 / nutritionist August 30 / psychologist September 3 / meet surgeon (Dr. Penner) September 20 / PATTS October 10 / Surgery October 18 2013!

Happy birthday no matter what you eat! Maybe stick a candle on top of a non-food gift? Things I would get myself as a treat:

- a manicure/pedicure

- fake gel nails (okay okay)

- a massage

- New shoes!

-More new shoes!

-Makeup

_a book

-a Movie

-a day of skiing

Happy birthday!

Thanks Ladies!!

The internal pie: is just 3 cups apples, with 1 cup of splenda brown and 1 cup and splenda white, 1 tbsp if flour and cinnamon to taste...the pie crust is made standard with no sugar (yes its made with lard, but I make crust thin and am only having 1/8 of the pie...its yummy (store bought shells can be purchased or you can make pie "topless" for less carbs)...BAKE at 350 for 1 hr or until golden.
