Hi there.

Do you have to pay for them? Just asking because most drug companies don't cover them. I am thinking of getting the shot myself if it's not too expensive. I do have the gummies right now, I have enough for 4 months.

I buy the injectable B12 at Walmart. It's about $7 for 10 shots and most people only take 1 or 2 shots a month, so I find it's actually cheaper than the chewables.

Yes.. your GP can prescribe it for you.

I used to get it once a month. Now I take the tablet; I get them from Walmart, (1200mcg/tablet...3-4x per week)

And it was cheap to get. about $6/$7

The typical general supplemental dose of vitamin B12 is 1-25 mcg per day. You can also eat meat, fish, and dairy products if you want to go lightly with the shots.

You don't need a prescription .. I went to Shoppers Drug mart and you buy a vial for around 12 dollars. It will last you

awhile...You will go to your family doctor once a month to get the shot.. So much easier then taking another vitamin.  Try

a few different options and one will work out for you.. Good Luck on your surgery....
