Hi,  Anyone ever have bad breath after having surgery?

Orientation March 13, 2013 / Social Worker June 11 / Nurse Practitioner July 10 / Nutrition class, Blood, ECG Aug. 20 / Surgeon Consult - Dr. Penner Sept. 20 / CT Scan Oct. 10 / Surgeon Consult - Dr. Urbach Oct. 18 / Psychologist Oct. 30 / Nutritionist Oct. 30 / Dr. Urbach Dec. 13 / PAATS Jan. 24 / Surgery February 3, 2014

Yes, it's gross.  I have to brush my teeth the second I get up or I'll poison my family!!

You're probably in ketosis, yay! It means you are burning fat. An unfortunate side effect is ketosis breath. I wonder if it's also our stomachs healing, and being kind of "smelly" directly after surgery - my dad was always telling me it smelled like I had "sick breath" in the first month after surgery. He seemed to be the only one who could smell it though.

Taking probiotics daily will help a lot with the breath. 2tsp apple cider unpasteurized   with honey and warm water will also help a lot.

Sorry did realized you are new at this . Much later after healing you wish to try the above advice .
