Tool to Estimate Expected Weight Loss

Here's a tool I found on the site that will help you estimate your expected post-surgery weight loss. It's only a guideline but so far its been spot on for me*.

Enter your weight, height, and use 65% as the "What percent of excess body weight do you expect to lose?", and it will give you an 18 month post-surgery weight loss chart including an updated BMI calculation.

*It probably doesn't give a week-by-week calculation for a reason... you can expect some "stall" weeks where you won't lose anything at all. Don't freak out -- it's just your body making adjustments. Stick to the plan and everything will even out eventually!

Is 65% really the average?  Is that with no exercise and just diet alone?  I'm wondering how I can increase that number.  Anyone that's lost more then 65% have any tips?

65 - 80% of excess weight is what I was quoted by my Centre, but they seemed to think that 65% was the more realistic goal for most people. They expect light to moderate exercise so I'm sure they took that into consideration.

Keep in mind that it's just an estimated weight goal, surgery is just one tool in getting to your goal weight, and everyone is different. I think the key to long-term success is sticking to the program, getting enough protein, taking your vitamins, staying hydrated, and making exercise a part of your new lifestyle.
