Definitely TMI question re: Diarrhea

I am almost three weeks post op (tomorrow) and on puréed foods.  I have kept it simple.... Mashed potatoes, hummus and cottage cheese  along with oatmeal, etc that was well tolerated on liquid diet.  The last three days I have had diarrea.  I thought it was maybe the Prevacid, I take it and an hour later I have to make a run for it.  However, I haven't taken it yet today and same problem.  My tummy feels fine, no cramps, no pain, nothing to indicate a problem there.  Is it normal to have this happen? I have done some reading and it seems it is ok, but then others run to their Dr about it....... And I really am not one that goes to the Dr for every little thing.  Help!

Oh no! I don't know what's worse.... I have had both since surgery and now after the constipation I have this.  Will not be taking any stool softeners tonight for sure lol.

Are you taking in any sugar alcohols? If so try cutting those out.  Or it could be lactose intolerance, I hear that is common after surgery.  Make sure you are getting enough liquids.  If it continues call your centre and ask what they would suggest to help. Hope you feel better soon, I know it sucks.

Are you taking your iron supplement? That often causes constipation.  It can be a tricky personal balance that you have to find between the constipating effect of the iron and the need for stool softeners.  And the balance can change as you work your way through the eating stages.  Hope this helps.

Could be Lactose Intolerance pretty common after Gastric Bypass. Try no dairy for a few days and see if that helps.
