Started Opti and tired...

Just wondering how many people experienced fatigue when on the Opti diet.  I am on day three and feel very tired.  Seems like any thing I do tires me out pretty fast over the last couple of days.

I found after day four I was in much better spirits and back to my old self. I no longer felt the initial hunger due to the reduction in calories and the "foggy" thought process lifted for me. The first few days had me questioning my ability to complete three weeks but the time started to fly by after that.

Hi

I started OPTI last Tuesday the 23rd. I was *****y, tired, extremely hungry, headachey, you name it I experienced it. I am now on day 8 or 9 and aside from a little hunger when I'm getting close to 4 hours without anything, I'm back to normal. No headaches, not tired, feeling energized.

Hang in there. It will get better.

YES!  I was dragging my butt the whole time. The first week was the worst.  Don't worry, soon Optifast will be a distant memory!!

Keep on chugging. Give yourself a break.  During Optifast I was drinking 800 calories, a big difference from what I was used to at the time.

I was tired throughout opti - just listen to your body and you will know when you need to rest.  I would go to bed at 8pm most nights I was so tired after a regular work day.  Just be gentle with yourself and take it easy as much as possible.

Day 3-5 were the worst for me. But I still had the fatigue the whole 2 weeks. My gp took me off work early prior to surgery due to the fatigue & the brain fog

I started all the vitamins etc one month before my Opti, I am on the last legs of opti and never really experienced any fatigue.  It wont hurt to start the vitamins..it gets your body used to taking them thats for sure.   Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies.  Nice to know I am not the only one that is crusty and tire with this.  I have been taking my vitamins.  This is actually something I have always done so it won't be a *****ange for me.  Day 4, 17 more to go!

ON the positive I have found lots of stuff to make the opti quite enjoyable now.  Much better then day one.
