Happily OPTI trotting

Well not sure when or if I will need the fibre I bought for OPTI LMAO  OMG it sure is cleaning out the old system!  I actually really like the OPTI, both the vanilla and chocolate.  The chocolate is very good!  I am on day 3.  I have just been blending them with ice and 300 mL of cold water.  I add 1 tsp of decaf coffee and 1 tsp of splenda to the vanilla.

Hi Chrissy!  I kinda like the opti too.  Have been adding different flavourings and have not had a problem at all.  One week today for my surgery! I have my post op vitamins organised.  Just a couple things to pick up at the grocery store for the 2 weeks of full fluids stage.  I got the cutest little "ring pop" popsicle makers at shoppers.  They are small and cutesy shapes.  I am going to make some protein or sugar free yogurt, jello, crystal light,  pops post op.  Today I am going to start getting my hospital bag ready today.  I go crazy thinking about the things I have to do, until I get them done.  So, it may be early to pack my bag, but my crazy brain won't stop thinking about it, until it is done.

Take care,

judy

I got the same popsicle maker and have been making tiny Mio popsicles to get me through Opti.

Those are some good ideas! I am NOT creative at all....my hubby does all the cooking in this house.  I am going to look for those popsicle makers and do the mio water thing...that sounds like a nice treat.

i think I have everything as far as vitamins post op too....although I am just barely choking back that chewable multi...i cant stand it! I plug my nose and then chug water after but I wont be able to do that post op. Grin and bear it lol

I haven't tried my chewables yet, finishing off my prenatals.  After surgery you could try crushing it and mix it with a spoonful of yogurt.  Might help to get it down.

I'm on day 6, and had a baaaaad case of the OTs until the evening of day three. Benefibre (clear fiber) mixed in with each shake helps enormously. I've been doing them with Davinci SF syrups (I have chai, peanut butter, cookie dough, marshmallow, vanilla, cherry, raspberry, etc), mint tea with the chocolate shakes, instant coffee crystals, pumpkin pie spice. They ain't bad at all with lots of ice. I got 2 boxes Van/4 Choc and I wish I had done 50/50, as vanilla is grosser on its own but you can make more flavors with it.

Ok I will be adding the fibre to every other shake starting tomorrow and see how that goes.  Ya the vanilla is way more versatile I think but I love the chocolate on its own. I may try the mint tea with the chocolate...it sounds good.

Yeah I had seen on the Ontario recipes "Opti" thread to try either peppermint extract or mint tea...mint tea is nicer, milder flavor. Reminds me of mint hot chocolate.

My favourite was chocolate opti with cherry syrup. My take on Black Forest cake.
