Bloodwork!

OMG! Did the bloodwork required as per my orientation package.  9 vials!  3 from right arm.  Then 3 from left arm.  Then a new tech, who suggested I lie down for the next set of 3, from a new spot on my left arm.  Thank goodness my daughter picked me up and took me out for breakfast.  Orange juice, stat!

Wow I have never had them take it from more than one arm. Were they having problems getting your blood to flow?

oh yeah, had both arms and even my hand once.  good times.  Now I make sure I drink a TON of water the days lead up to it, and either take the stairs, or walk a lap around the building - something to get my blood flowing so it's quick work for them.  Seems to help the vampires out :)

I'm the same way, get picked in both arms usually, then try the hands, usually have to have a kid's butterfly needle....  I have to get my bloodwork done in the next couple of weeks.  Good advice about the walk around the block, maybe I'll have to do a couple flights of stairs when I see my number getting close.  At my blood lab the line ups are ridiculous in the mornings for fasting blood work, we have to take a number and wait up to an hour sometimes (and that's lining up before the place even opens).  Here's to hoping our values all come out normal!

Some places are now letting you book appointments online for the lab.  Take a look and see if there is a lab near you that will do this.  Much more convenient, especially if you are fasting!

9 is nothing.  Wait until you are post op and it's either 16 or 17 vials.

Thanks everyone.  All bloodwork is good.  B12 a little low, so I will start with 1,000 - 2,000 mg daily,  Sleep test requisition next up.
