We talk about poop on here, so pee should be ok right? Lol. I have noticed since my surgery my Pee smells sour, is this because of the increase of protein? It's weird it's yucky and it's a stinky. Has anybody else have this problem? I know normal pee has a smell but this smell is just weird! Lol

OMG YES !!!

It is brutal Ketosis is quite possible I suppose. I thought it may have been caused by the 2 centrum 50+ vits a day I was taking post surgery Since I switched back to my regular pre natal, it seems better , not great ..but better. I have also wondered if it's worse when I am not drinking enough water . ?????

Your urine will have a stronger scent to it is concentrated (first thing in the morning or when you aren't drinking enough). The scent can be caused by ketosis, what you are eating, your mediations or anything.

As others have said... ketosis, vitamins, and not enough liquid (concentrated urine) make for stinky pee in addition to what you're eating.

This is embarrassing, but when I was a kid I told my doctor my pee smelled like onions. He asked if I had been eating a lot of onions and I said yes. Problem resolved. Hey--I didn't know. My pee didn't come with a manual. Now I've discovered asparagus pee... a whole nother realm of eew.

How far out from surgery are you? I found I had a similar issue shortly after being discharged. I think it had a lot to do with the IV fluids.

If you're further out, the others may be correct with the ketosis thing. I've never had that issue, but I get ketobreath pretty bad.
