Dumping?

Not sure if this is dumping or not but HOLY!

I have been doing well, REALLY, REALLY well. Anyhow, I ate my scrambled egg and 1/2 Skyr for breakfast, liquids only for snack, lentil soup for lunch, then 1/2c Jello chocolate pudding (the low fat one). I got maybe two spoonfuls and have been vomiting since. I have lost not only the pudding but what feels like my whole lunch. As soon as I felt that tightness that comes if food gets stuck, I stopped eating the pudding. But, apparently, it was too late.

Is this dumping Syndrome? I understand it as a sudden flush of the stomach into the intestines, painful etc., usually caused by high fat, or high sugar.

Sounds like dumping. Everyone experiences it a little differently. Are you spacing out your water and your food? Try to have the yogurt in the afternoon and egg only in the morning and see if that helps

I am spacing food and liquid apart. 45 - 50 mins after I eat before liquids. I will try spacing lunch and afternoon snack further apart.

Thanks for the advice.

Not dumping. Likely food stuck, too much food.

Dumping is entirely different. Sweaty, heart racing pounding , nausea, explosive diarrhea Please search for symptoms. Don't have time for a full answer

How much are you eating at each sitting? I know it says 1/2 of a yogurt AND egg - is that at the same time? Make sure you are measuring. It would have been too much for me so early out. However, I could only eat 1/4 cup of anything for the longest time! Now finally I am between 1/2-3/4 cup of food depending on day. Some days are better and some aren't. :)

I can eat up to 3/4c at a meal. The yogurt is in individual containers 3/4c each so 1 egg and 1/2 the yogurt. I am making sure that I am spacing meals out by 4 hours. I tried the pudding 1.5 hrs after the soup.

Thanks for your input. I spoke with my NP this morning and it could just have been that my stomach found it too sweet or rich.

doesn't sound like dumping to me. I would guess you might have had a stuck lentil. I've had that happen with a blueberry...if something is stuck it doesn't matter what else goes in after it is coming out until you are unstuck. make sure you chew really well.

Dumping is usually hot flashes, sweating, racing heart, dizzyness...stomach cramping. without those it is probably not dumping. I don't vomit or have diarrhea with dumping but if it is severe enough some people do (as well as the other symptoms), but it seems to be rare.

I have only dumped from a protein shake (1 big gulp). so it was really the speed of the food hitting my intestines that caused it. so I SLOW down.

Thank you!

I blend my soup so that I'm not mixing liquid and solid. I think maybe the pudding was just too rich. I'm feeling so much better today.
