UGH! Huge SIGH

Last week I felt like I was getting a bladder infection - but was not entirely sure. I thought maybe I could be dehydrated so I increased my water and drank diluted cranberry. Yesterday I woke up and was unfortunately peeing blood :( Now I am on antibiotics for Infection and I am really hoping they work. Still experiencing a lot of symptoms and discomfort. The doctor told me the meds were gentle on the stomach, the pharmacist said the opposite. Anyone else experience UTI following surgery? I have been prone to them all of my life, but its been a while.

You can PM LauraLeafFan and ask. She posted in March so there should be a thread.

My recent bout was a kidney infection that went into my blood stream. Within two days of the antibiotics (I.V.), my fever broke and the pain was more just discomfort. Tylenol also helped with the pain and can be used.

I don't think my surgery had anything to do with it, but when I experienced abdominal pain, I just thought something I ate had disagreed with my pouch and let it go too long. I can't remember the antibiotics given, but my GP and the specialist knew I was a WLS patient and I had no trouble - orally or intravenously.

I hope you feel better soon.

Yep like Linda said I got one post op and I wasn't prone to them. The antibiotics did work for me but they took a couple days to kick in. I wondered if it had to do with the prevacid actually as if I read correctly it can be a side effect. I never did have another one.

Good luck... I hope you feel better Soon!!

Hello

I also have a history of chronic bladder infections.

Drinking 2-3 litres of water daily. Drinking Uvv Ursi.

Bladder infections are crazy. I have to admit that I had a terrible episode of kidney stones & finally passed them. My bladder has been fine since.

Hope you are feeling better!
