Hi - it's me MJ!

Well it is Weigh in Wednesday and I have lost 23 lbs since my start of Opt July 18. Is that the preferred way to report weight loss? Or do you report your weight at surgery. I am always so enthralled with people's numbers. HW, SW, CW and GW - so many numbers. I am excited but I have a lot of head hunger which I find surprising. As they say in Cool Hand Luke, I gotta "get my mind right"

I can't believe it has only been two weeks since my surgery. Last week was really LOOONG. I feel that my clothes are getting looser and I am breathing more. I am paying attention to my appearance. Getting up early every morning to shower and moisturize. I put on mascara and lip gloss even though I am not going to work and I tend to climb back into bed at 10:00 am for a little nap. This is a decadent practice for sure.

I hope you are all doing BETTER have an awesome day.

TOGETHER we can be BETTER

Best, MJ

Congratulations, that's great news! Awesome weight loss and NSV's!

I count from my first day of Opti. A lot of people from the US have to do a 6 month diet before getting approved for surgery so they often give their "high weight" at the start of their diet, and their since surgery weight losses. I find in Canada, we're only on opti for 1-3 weeks so it feels like the real start of things. But it's all up to you; you get to decide where you want to start.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

I use my pre-liquid diet weight as my starting weight or high weight (weight loss is weight loss, there is no weight loss that doesn't count).

Glad you are seeing such great results so quickly.

I agree with Travelher - all weight loss counts. I also copied her signature line including all stages of weight loss, measurements and clothing size because they make up the whole picture. Some (like Michelle W.) lost more than 20 pounds before Opti while I lost only 6 and wasn't as diligent or focused. I concentrated on the mental of the process more so than the physical but have been really inspired and motivated since Opti and completely committed to this new journey.

That's what's so great about this site: we're the same, but different and the sharing, encouragement and information gathering is helpful to us all.

Great progress M.J. - keep it up!
