I don't swing by the boards nearly enough, and I know that I should.

I hover these days around 165.I go as high as 180. I swing back and forth and I've noticed more post-op that I have such an emotional attachment to food. It's something I have to keep in check.

I was 389 lbs. I feel like some people.. have no idea what it's really like to be obese. I hear stories from women who were 250 and getting surgery and I remember thinking/feeling that I'd love to be 250! Not to minimize others, but it just felt as though so few people knew my struggle. No clothes fit. Ever. Even at Penningtons. How often do you see 5x clothing? I put on size 18 shorts and the literally fell off me.

I did it. I know you can too. I hovered at 200ish for a long time, I think around 190. I felt okay, you know? Then last year I started dropping weight again even though nothing I did changed. Expect the unexpected. Your body will go through a LOT.

Btw, I feel worse about being naked now than I did when I was large. the skin *shudders*, but I can walk and run and I feel amazing.

At 390lbs I was still able to live my life, but the pain in my joints was starting to set in, my blood pressure was high and the depression was unreal.

Now at 3.5 weeks post op, I'm already seeing some amazing results. My one-month follow-up was today and they confirmed that I had lost 27lbs since surgery and my blood pressure is in the normal range again. I cried when they told me that.

52lbs total in 6 weeks! When is the last time I did that? NEVER! I know that the loss will slow down a bit and I'll hit stalls which is okay. My goal right now is to lose 100lbs in 6 months. (I need to go wedding dress shopping)

Not looking forward to the saggy skin at all being a newlywed. But it will always be better than being trapped in a fat body. Thank god for plastics?

Oh I lived, I never had any health issues either - just being heavy. No blood pressure issues, or diabetes, nothing, no sleep apnea.. just sore joints. And yeah it will slow down a lot, your body will take a HUGE breather. Best of luck, you sound like you got this :)

Congratulations. You look wonderful!! I know I'm a male and the skin isn't much of an issue to me but I resolved myself to thinking... Who cares what others think when they see me in swim trunks.

The ability to have my life back far outweighs anything someone else may think about my looks and it sounds to me like you are thinking the same but ya...I could do without the bat wings and rippled thighs but again, I know where I came from and it's A-OK by me.

Again, Nice to see your transformation.
