I did mall walking after surgery, as it was the dead of winter and we had over 6 feet of snow. I brought a protein shake and water with me and sat in the food court after my walks, sipping and people watching. I think I was about 2 months out when I was able to add swimming, which really helped get the pounds off quickly. Plus it was relaxing and soothing. Once spring came I was able to add nature hikes on the trail, and long bike rides. I'm lucky enough to live in an area that has lots of pretty trails nearby, as well as a paved bike trail that circles around the city, through various parks and a conservation area.

I have asthma too so totally get how it can be so restrictive. I've been lucky that it has been in better control since surgery, although I did have one bought of pneumonia and one bought of bronchitis since surgery. I'm getting sick again now and have been needing my ventolin again, which is a bummer as I can do without it now when I'm not sick (pre surgery I needed it 4-6 times daily, plus all of the other asthma drugs). The change in weather/temp really affects my asthma and we recently went from hot summer like weather to snow and rain so my health is taking a hit.

I'm hoping to get to the pool later today.

You've done so well with the fitness! If I did mall walking, it would just be shopping trips. Haha. I am better off avoiding the mall!!! :)

My asthma takes a hit with the weather change too. I am curious to see how it fairs this year with my new asthma injections. I am hoping well!!!

I hope you don't get sick... here's to good health, Kathy. Take care please.

I've just (at the significant others insistence) reread my manual Not fun but it did point out that you CANNOT use you abdominal muscles until 4 months out. so be very careful with your exercise you are only two months out. stick i think to walking and biking and if you can get to a pool some aqua fit.

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

Thank you for the reminder about the 4 months. Hernias are possible and internal damage easy... and I am so not interested in either. :)

Ive heard you use abdominal muscles when biking, but I think that's more for real biking, like hill climbing and stuff... not for the gentle bindoor biking I'll be doing!
