Had my one month post op nutrition class/ follow up with nurse at Humber

My appointment for the nurse was scheduled for 8:00 am and I rushed down the highway for no reason.... wasn't seen until 8:50. During the nurse appointment I had to ask the nurse to check my incisions because she asked me how they were. I told her "I guess they're okay " So I followed up with "Can you check." Which she did. Then she took a measurement of my mid section. The RD was with her. They asked me how much I weighed before I started Opti. I thought they would've had that information! Then they asked me how I was. I told them. Then they quickly called in the ne t person. Don't show up on time for this appointment.

Then in the group nutrition class was supposed to start at 10:00 am but it didn't start until 10:30 or so. It ended around 11:30. After reading some of the posts there is a lot of misinformation and,or different rules by different centres!

i was disappointed to see that the PowerPoint wasn't given to us instead we were told to download information from the site or purchase a manual for $20 reluctantly I bought the $20 manual because I just wanted a hard copy to reference!

no blood work today They said at the 3 and 6 month one they would.

That sounds frustrating. It seems like they could improve a little....that whole $20 this is RIDICULOUS. My clinic emailed me the power point, and gave me a printed booklet for free. Don't be scared to complain. It could benefit other people after you. Hopefully your next appointment goes better.

Like Linda said that sounds a bit frustrating.

I want to congratulate you though for coming this far on a journey that is not easy.

Stay true to your course. You got this.

Yeah, the follow ups can be frustrating. I got much better medical follow up care from my family doctor than I did from my center. The only benefit was from talking with the other post ops, in my opinion, and they barely gave us a chance to do so.

I wasn't charged anything; charging you for the manual is crazy. Everything is covered by OHIP; sounds like they're making some extra money on the side.
