100 lbs.

I'm a little late in posting, but grateful just the same. On December 22nd - 9 months to the day of my surgery and after a four week stall, I hit 100 lbs. lost. This would include the 10 lbs. lost during the Opti phase and 6 lbs. prior. It amazes me that I could lose so much, or in the reverse, that I had gained so much in the 30 years since marrying my husband. My next goal is my wedding weight and "normal" BMI - about 8 more pounds.

I received the most beautiful card from my family and my son had the pleasure of taping me as I cried throughout trying to read it aloud. Thankfully, he only sent it to his sister who cried watching me cry - too funny. The one line that really struck me is: "By having less of you we now have more of you." How true that is. I haven't been this active, energetic, happy, involved, chatty (okay - always chatty) ... and the list goes on and on. I have always been outgoing, involved, energetic - but now it has just expanded ten fold. I laugh when I'm called small or tiny. And smile even more when I actually fit into a small. I picked up a pair of leggings when folding the laundry and showed them to my husband, "Guess who's these are?"

My family have given me a family portrait that we will take in the spring. I posted that this was a hint from me to my daughter and I can't think of a nicer gift - a photo of the new me surrounded by my family who continue to support me each and every day. I now joke to my husband, "What am I getting for my wedding weight goal?"

The challenges will continue, the temptations will always be there, and when I stop waving goodbye, my upper arms continue. But I feel GREAT, am committed to continuing to work hard and am thankful for all of the support, encouragement and advice from my O.H. friends.

Wishing you a wonderful 2018!

Linda

Hi Linda,

What an amazing adventure you have been on. I love reading your posts. I too have an amazingly supportive husband, son and daughter and have about the same amount to lose as you, so I can totally relate. What a blessing this whole thing has been. Thank you for sharing and congratulations!
