Why does my size drop after a stall?

I have a question. Twice now, I've dropped a size after experiencing a stall. Is my body just weird or is this normal?

I always buy the same brand/style pants from the same place, and when I started out the size 24W were too tight. Lately my size 12's have been getting looser and looser, and this week I was able to fit into the size 10 pants, and they fit great (although a bit loose on the bum). I'm thrilled, beyond belief, but it's so weird.

Woo! Me too! Maybe you're buffing up with heavier muscle?

Just because the scale isn't moving doesn't mean you're not losing inches. That's why I took my measurements monthly on the anniversary of my surgery. Success is more than just the number on the scale.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

Thank you. I normally do take my measurements monthly but for some reason forgot this month.

Congrats!

and Yup. I don't really know why, but that's always been the way i lost. A whoosh of weight, level off, a drop in size...repeat.

I have been the same ish weight since Christmas, but I'm down another size, I started at a tight 32, and own some size 10s and even an 8 (a stretchy 8, but I'll take it hahahah)

As others said, that's why it's important to not rely on the scale as your only indicator of progress!

take lots of selfies, measurements. Etc.

Thats also why it's important to stay the course during a short stall. Your body is still doing its thing!

Wow, you've done so great! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. When I first started losing, it wasn't like this; I lost weight and sizes pretty evenly. Now it seems to want to level off before the size drops.

I can't even imagine fitting into an 8; I couldn't even imagine a 10 when I started this. I was hoping to fit into size 14 again but would have settled for a 16 when I first started out.

I can't wait until spring when I can start bike riding again. We still have about 4 feet of snow and I'm so sick of it.
