Hi all,

I had my orientation on Feb 16 2018. Just got a call that I'm meeting with the Surgeon on April 13th. I'm with Humber River. Do I not meet with the nurse/dietician/social worker first? I'm so excited and ready to have the bypass. Just wondering if anyone else met with the surgeon first?

I'm with Humber as well (my surgery is actually Monday!)

With Humber i met with the surgeon (its quick 15min) and at that appt was then given my appt date for the Nurse/Dietitian/Social Worker. (all 3 in one day). It was about 2 months for me between those appts.

So you're right on track!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!

You just made my day. I'm so excited, and it looks like I won't have a really long wait.

Thanks so much for responding, and best wishes to you on Monday!

Wow. That is awesome. Sounds like Humber has a good routine down. My process has been really slow going (with TWH); people say that isn't a bad thing but it does get frustrating at times waiting. [Oct referral, Jan orientation, social worker today, nurse in a few weeks and nutrition class end of Apr.]

Great for you guys though! Good luck and best wishes for all that awaits you in your journeys ahead.

I feel like all of them have their snags. Notice my delay from orientation to my first appt? 14 months! But it gave me lots of time to prepare and research.

Its good to take the time to be fully prepared. And it helps with all your appts when you know what they want before they even ask you. I had time to get into a good food routine which allowed me to only need 1 appt with the dietitian.

Hi there, I am with Humber too and I think they have things going well right now. It took me 7 moths from orientation and that is only because I had to put off surgery due to work commitments. Would have only been 6 months. I have found the program quite good. Good Luck!

Orientation July, Surgeon consult Sept, Internist Nov, RD/RSW/RN Dec.
